Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms govern your use of the StreamerTools website, browser extensions, and the Device Controller desktop application (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Services.
1. What we provide
StreamerTools provides interactive widgets for Twitch streamers and their viewers, including Twitch Extensions and the Device Controller desktop app. Some widgets let viewers use Twitch Bits to trigger an action on a streamer's channel, such as switching a connected smart plug on for a short time.
The Services let streamers connect their own hardware and configure how viewers interact with it. We don't supply the hardware, and we don't control what a streamer connects or how they use it.
2. Eligibility
You must have a valid Twitch account and meet Twitch's own age and eligibility requirements to use the Services. If you use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you're authorized to accept these Terms for it.
3. Your account
To use most features you sign in through Twitch. You're responsible for activity that happens through your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current.
You may stop using the Services at any time. When a streamer uninstalls an extension or stops using the Device Controller app, we stop collecting data tied to that use, as described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Services to break the law or to violate Twitch's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or Bits Acceptable Use Policy;
- Connect hardware in a way that is unsafe, harmful, or likely to injure people, animals, or property;
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services or their infrastructure;
- Reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Services except as expressly allowed;
- Use the Services to harass, deceive, or harm others.
You're responsible for how you configure and operate any device you connect, and for ensuring your use is appropriate and safe for your audience.
5. Bits & virtual items
Twitch Bits are a virtual good provided and operated entirely by Twitch. When a viewer uses Bits through a StreamerTools widget, that transaction is handled by Twitch under Twitch's policies — not by us. We don't sell, set the price of, issue refunds for, or process payment for Bits, and we never receive your payment card details.
Use of Bits is governed by Twitch's Bits Acceptable Use Policy. Any Bits revenue share is paid out by Twitch under your agreement with Twitch.
6. Hardware & safety
Widgets that control physical devices act on hardware you own and set up. You are solely responsible for the safe selection, wiring, placement, and operation of any device you connect. Do not connect anything that could cause injury, fire, water damage, electrical hazard, or harm if switched on or off remotely or repeatedly. We are not responsible for damage or injury resulting from devices you connect or how you use them.
7. Third-party services
The Services work alongside third-party platforms and products, including Twitch and smart-plug hardware and apps (such as Kasa / TP-Link). Your use of those is governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for third-party services, and their availability isn't guaranteed.
StreamerTools is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Twitch Interactive, Inc. or TP-Link.
8. Device Controller license
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Device Controller app to use the Services. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or reverse engineer the app except where that restriction is prohibited by law. The app may check for and install updates so it keeps working with the Services.
9. Intellectual property
StreamerTools and its software, branding, and content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't transfer any of those rights to you except the limited licenses stated here. "Twitch" and "Bits" are trademarks of Twitch Interactive, Inc., used here only to describe interoperability.
10. Disclaimers
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any device will trigger reliably. You use the Services at your own risk.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StreamerTools and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. To the extent we are found liable, our total liability will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the prior twelve months or USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Services, in whole or in part, if you violate these Terms or to protect the Services or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected here, and your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
